DRLW Day 3!

D - drank black coffee in bed this morning while reading my book "Your Journey to Financial Freedom" because I enjoy the little things in life and relaxing in bed, sipping coffee, reading a book is my favorite way to start the morning : )  R - read "Your Journey to Financial Freedom" which talked about the 5 different stages of where you are on your journey and she used a space mission analogy; I'm a cadet! Paying off my student loan debt, with lots of other moving parts, trying to minimize expenses, save, while focusing the majority on paying the debt 100% completely down to be debt-free. I have recalibrated my finances and financial goals immensely in the past few months, and will continue to in the next few months as well so that I can be as aggressive as possible with paying off that debt! L - lifting this morning, that 25 lb plate is great for doing a slow and controlled hollow hold while doing crunches with the plate! great exercise to wake up in the morn...

DRL-W Day 2

Habits . That's what this is; let's see where I'm at after 66 days (European Journal of Social Psychology, 2023). That's the average days for a new behavior to become a habit.  D - drank coffee in bed this morning; had a latte on my way down to the gym to lift, sipping and reading feels so freeing to me, calm, peaceful, productive, sets my mindset for the day positively.  R - read "Connect" about developing deeper relationships; although not all relationships need to be deep. Skimmed through it as I understand the importance of vulnerability, and honesty in relationships and how it builds trust between people. LOVED the start of "Your Journey To Financial Freedom" by Jamilia Souffrant, can't wait to pick it back up again and also listen to her podcast Journey to Launch! I just made the biggest financial payment of my entire life, & I'm on a journey to pay off my student loan debt in the next 2 years while figuring out how I can save/liv...

DRLW Day 1

Here's my idea & today is day 1. Every morning I will: D - drink (coffee because I love it and water to hydrate) R - read (a book, probably about finances because I'm on a journey to save) L - lift (weights or exercises; just enough to wake me up, actual workouts are in the evenings) W - write (on this blog; summaries of my day, what I've learned and reflect on how things are going) I've been tracking my food in the 1st Phorm app inconsistently, on and off for the past few months, but I have learned that I previously had no idea what kind of macros I was eating each day (it was not nearly enough protein) & now I have a rough estimate of what macros look like each meal and that I should aim for 30-50 g of protein each meal. I have 34 lbs to lose! My goal is to build muscle and burn fat, while feeling energized and great! I didn't like that I couldn't easily change the serving sizes to ounces or grams or however I wanted to track each item, so I just swi...
